About Diabesity
Obesity is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes. Many physicians today recognize the important relationship between obesity and glycemic control and refer to the combination of the two conditions by a new term: DIABESITY.
Many diabetic patients are unable to maintain their weight and glycemic status within healthy ranges. Diabesity causes many complications and other disorders. While diabetes may affect your kidneys, heart and vision - obesity substantially increases the risk of hypertension, stroke, hyperlipidemia, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, respiratory problems and endometrial, breast, prostate and colon cancers, as well as cardiovascular disease.
